Loved everything about Requa Inn. Hot chocolate and its smell in the main hall. The sounds of wood. The Klamath River out of window and the river mouth a few minutes walk away. The super friendly staff. The wonderful breakfast.
This is one of those places that you want to tell everyone about but also keep as your own little secret. It is SUCH a special place. The location is absolutely gorgeous and the hotel is steeped in history that you feel when you walk through the doors. This place is the definition of cozy and though we headed to the area to enjoy the National Park we spent about a third of each day just enjoying the hotel. It was a rare experience of feeling in community with other guests as well as the staff. To say the staff is welcoming is an understatement. It felt more like you were staying with friends who were attentive and invested in ensuring you felt at home. The breakfast served at the restaurant was a 10 out of 10. Even the simple dishes were so delicious. We traveled with our 8 year old daughter and she did not want to leave. We all promised that we would make the Historic Requa Inn a regular destination for our family vacations. Thank you to everyone for making this stay so magical, we can't wait to come back!
Requa Inn is a GEM of a bed and breakfast. My husband and I have stayed here twice in the Cathedral Trees room and it was a dream both times. The staff is so friendly, the atmosphere is everything, and there are so many ways to spend a relaxing vacation in this stretch of the remote redwoods. I cannot recommend enough. Thank you!
Very nice! Peaceful, friendly and relaxing. Historic and home like feel. We enjoyed our 2 nights. No TV and didn’t miss it. Nice hike trail on top of the hill. Also enjoyed their house wine.
What a great find! I love staying in historic inns and this is truly a gem. The inn was originally built in the the late 1800s but burned down in 1913. W.T. Bailey rebuilt it in 1914 out of old growth redwood and named it the Klamath Inn. The land it is built on is on the Yurok Nation. The people of this land have lived here for 100s of years. The owner now is a Yurok Elder and her grandmother lived right up the hill. The downstairs is warm and inviting with beautiful leather furniture, a fireplace, and a beautiful chess set. there are books to read and views of the Klamath river from the large windows. The rooms are kept as historically accurate as possible, the beds are so comfortable and clean. All of the amenities are in the bathrooms, top of the line shampoos etc etc. The people who run the hotel are calm and very informative. best of all there are no tvs.. It is so nice to get away from the contant barrage of daily life. But dont fear, if you still need your internet, there is wifi, both the in house and Starlink! Wow. Perfect stay. Great staff. Stay: Beautiful art, themed, lovely rooms (doors are left open so you can explore), and a cozy main floor with wine for purchase and 24/7 tea and coffee. The dining area has white tablecloths, and the staff styles them for the season. My wife and I ate breakfast twice, and I loved it both times. Location: The inn is between Jedidiah Smith Redwoods State Park and Redwood National State Park. So it is perfect if you want to hike. The inn is about a 5-minute drive from the park's best overlook for sunsets. Food options are limited. In the off-season, the inn does not do dinner. The drive to Crescent City is about ~20 min. Otherwise, options are limited to the town's local bar. It is good, but bar food.
Beautiful location well situated to access northern and southern parts of Redwood NP. The staff is helpful and informative prior to your visit to make arrival and stay a trouble free experience. And the setting is just gorgeous views where the Klamath River joins the Pacific. Just a couple minutes up the road is a perfect overlook to view the coast and is amazing at sunset.
Had a wonderful stay at Requa Inn! So quiet and relaxing! Breakfast was great and the room was also very nice. Since I was there during the off season, no dinner, and options are limited in Klamath. Crescent City, about 20 minutes north, has more to choose from. The Requa Inn is a great place to use as a base to explore the nearby Redwood Parks. The Prairie Creek Cathedral Trails section is an easy, family friendly trail thru the redwoods. Awesome! Fern Canyon is also magical, but take an extra pair of shoes and socks. You'll get your feet wet, but it adds to the adventure! Thanks to all at The Requa Inn for making my stay so enjoyable! Oh, and be sure to catch the sunset at the Klamath overlook just right up the road!
